Richard Goode
The distinguished and beloved American pianist returns for his 9th recital on our stage.
Richard Goode represents the great tradition of his renowned teachers, Claude Frank, Nadia Reisenberg, Rudolf Serkin, and Karl Ulrich Schnabel. His New York debut came in 1962, his European debut in 1964. He captured 1st prize at the Clara Haskil Competition in 1973. Esteemed as a chamber musician, Goode frequently played at the Spoleto Festival, with the Boston Symphony Chamber Players and as a founding member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Goode was 47 years old when he made his acclaimed Carnegie Hall debut as a solo artist. He has since become one today’s most respected recitalists. Richard Goode is co-Artistic Director with Mitsuko Uchida of the Marlboro Music School and Festival in Vermont (USA).
Richard Goode lives in Manhattan with his violinist wife Marcia; they share their apartment with thousands of books.
