GRYPHON TRIO

GRYPHON TRIO

Music TORONTO continues its special relationship with the GRYPHON TRIO, begun in the early 90s and including 10 seasons as our ensemble-in-residence (1998-2008). Violinist Annalee Patipatanakoon, cellist Roman Borys and pianist Jamie Parker live in Toronto and teach at U of T, where Jamie is the Rupert E. Edwards Chair in Piano Performance. Formed in 1993 and thus beginning their 20th season, the Trio plays across Canada and around the world, enjoying a reputation for making …Warm, spacious and lyrical; serene and deeply felt music-making – what BBC Music Magazine said about the Trio’s Beethoven, the magazine’s May 2010 Award winner – and a 2011 JUNO award winner too.
