Music TORONTO enjoys a long history with the Gryphons, begun in 1995 and including 10 years (1998-2008) as ensemble-in-residence. We might call them the house band. The Gryphons have commissioned and premiered over fifty new works, produced major projects including the multi-media Constantinople, and developed its flagship educational project Listen Up! They also tour the world, and bring it home to our stage once every season. The CBC called them serious overachievers.
Gryphon cellist Roman Borys is entering his seventh year as Artistic Director of the Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival; Annalee Patipatanakoon and Jamie Parker serve as the festival’s Artistic Advisors. All 3 live in Toronto and teach at U of T.
