The Prazak, established in 1972 while its members were students at the Prague Conservatory, gained international prominence when the quartet won the Evian String Quartet Competition in 1978. For more than 30 years, the Prazak Quartet has been at home on music stages worldwide and has released more than 50 award-winning CDs on the Praga label.
In 2015, Jana Vonášková joined the group as first violinist, succeeding Pavel Hula, who retired due to health concerns. Ms. Vonášková is a graduate of the Royal College of Music in London, and was a member of the Smetana Trio for nine years. We welcome her to the Prazak for their 7th concert on our stage since 1993.
