AIZURI QUARTET
Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 8 pm

Formed in 2012 and combining four distinctive musical personalities into a powerful collective, the Aizuri Quartet draws its name from “aizuri-e,” a style of predominantly blue Japanese woodblock printing that is noted for its vibrancy and incredible detail.

The Aizuri benefitted from residencies between 2014 and 2017 at the Ravinia Festival, the Curtis Institute, and the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts

The Aizuri won the 2015 Wigmore Hall (UK) and the 2017 Osaka International Chamber Music Competitions – and, in 2022, the Cleveland Quartet Award.

The New York Times applauded them as “genuinely exciting,” “imaginative,” and “a quartet of expert collaborators.”
